A series of strike actions is expected to take place on 28/2.

Ships departing on Wednesday, February 28 from the ports of Piraeus, Rafina and Lavrio are expected to remain tied up.due to 24-hour strike action by four shipping unions.

The strike mobilization of the unions of the Panhellenic Union of Merchant Marine Engineers (PEMEN), the Panhellenic Union of Merchant Marine Sailors (PENEN), the Panhellenic Union of Merchant Marine Engine Crews “O STEFENSON” and the Panhellenic Professional Union of Merchant Marine Cooks will begin at 00:01 in the early hours of Wednesday February 28 and will expire at 12:00 midnight on the same day.

Maritime unions are demanding solutions to labor and pension issues signing contracts with substantial increases and measures for accuracy.

“We are calling on all seafarers, in the ports of Piraeus, Rafina, Lavrio, not to miss the strike on February 28” they say in a statement. Echelons of PENEN will be in the three ports of Attica from 5:30 in the morning on 2/28/24 to guard the strike.

Citizens are expected to experience great inconvenience on their commutes next Wednesday, February 28, due to the 24-hour strike announced by ADEDY.

– ATHENS METRO OPERATION CONTROL CENTER EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION (S.E.K.E.L.M.A.)

As for Attica buses, they will run from 09:00 to 21:00, after the workers announced two work stoppages at the beginning and end of the shift, according to a decision of the OASA Workers’ Union. Full restoration of traffic should be expected from 10:00, while the last services are expected to depart from the departure points around 20:00.

The same time, Attiki will be without taxis on Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 February 2024 and for 48 hours as SATA has announced a strike.
