“They still haven’t told me when the operation will take place, I spend most of the hours lying down,” said Mr. Christos
“Three years on the waiting list to be operated on,” reports Mr. Christos, a TV viewer of the show “Dekatianoi” with Yiannis Pittaras and Giorgos Grigoriadis.
As the viewer said, “as of 22/7/2021 I have made the first diagnosis of an inguinal hernia. They gave me the papers and told me to do all the pre-surgery tests. On 7/28/2022 I saw that they haven’t notified me yet and went again. They sent me again for tests, I’m going to the papers. I had to go to all the hospitals in Crete. They still haven’t told me when the operation will take place, I spend most of the hours lying down”
Mr. Christos also emphasized that a doctor from PAGNI told him: “What should I do with you? only if something happens and the ambulance takes you.”
The Deputy Minister of Health, Marios Themistokleous, gave an answer to the complaint of Mr. Christos through the broadcast. “What he described is not acceptable to anyone. That is why we started the registration, the clearing from the lists, to see the citizens they are waiting for. We are at the point where the process of evening surgeries begins to deal with such phenomena. These cases will be absorbed by the afternoon surgeries. Immediate priority will be given,” he said.
