Starting this Monday (4), Outback’s menu will be reinforced with three new features: a burger made 100% with the chain’s famous shredded and breaded ribs and another burger made 100% with picanha. There is also a reinterpretation of the traditional Thunder dessert, a brownie with ice cream and whipped cream that now also contains Nutella and is finished by the customer with a tube of hazelnut cream served separately.

The new products are part of the “100% bold” campaign, launched to reinforce the brand’s attributes of boldness and authenticity, and began to be developed around a year ago. During this period, market trends (such as the significant growth in burger sales) lead the chain’s test kitchen, at the Moema unit, to create new recipes with potential for success. They are then subjected to scrutiny by consumer groups until they finally reach the menu.

At the invitation of Outback, the Sheet tried the news first hand. The Picanha Bloomin’ Burger (served on a brioche bun with breaded onion petals, grilled bacon, cheese and sauces, for R$ 59.90) fulfills the role of a good x-bacon and seems, in fact, to be made with the specific cut of beef, as it has a specific texture and flavor, different from a traditional hamburger.

The Crunchy Ribs Burger (which includes lettuce, tomato, pickles, cheese and sauces, for R$ 54.90) surprises with its hamburger, a breaded patty almost two fingers high whose interior hides a good portion of boneless and stuffed Outback rib. with mix of cheeses. Together, the crunch of the breading and the moist, shredded meat form a sandwich that, contrary to what its robustness would suggest, is tasty and balanced.

Both burgers are served with a side dish of the customer’s choice (fries, salad and mac and cheese are among the options). Given the generous size of the sandwiches, it’s worth ordering something more similar to a dish in itself, like mac and cheese, and taking it home for your next meal.

At Thunder with Nutella (R$ 49.90), the highlight is a tube of Nutella served separately to finish the dessert at the table. The famous hazelnut cream also fills the brownie, which comes with vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup and whipped cream – essential to balance the sweetness.

The new products are now available for delivery and in all 159 Outback stores. According to the network, for a limited time.
