The lifeless body of the 45-year-old taxi driver was found by shepherds last Friday morning and identified today by DNA
In the most tragic way, the death case of Nikos Anastopoulos comes to an endof the unfortunate man who, on the evening of January 15, was swept away with his partner Georgia Bandiou by the torrential waters when they tried to cross the bridge at the entrance of Plutochorio.
His body was found last Friday at Flocka Dam by shepherds and today the results of the DNA test that identified the body came out.
The timeline of the case
It was past 8:00 on the evening of January 15, when the unfortunate Nikos Anastopoulos and his partner Georgia Badiou they were swept away by the waters of the torrent when they tried to cross the bridge at the entrance of Plutochori.
From that night a big fight started by the fire authorities, who with a strong presence were in the area on a daily basis and “combed” every inch of it. And if at the beginning of the 2nd day of investigations, the discovery of both the couple’s vehicle and the body of Georgia Bandiou, brought thoughts that that of Nikos Anastopoulos would soon be found, these were immediately overturned.
The days passed dramaticallythe families of the unfortunate couple were mired in pain and grief.
Until 46 days later the body was found at the Floka Dam -which as it turns out belongs to the 45-year-old taxi driver.
