Through the regulation, the possibility of cheap electricity tariffs is provided to holders of rural tariffs and to energy-intensive industrial consumers in order to strengthen their production work and reduce production costs
Published in the Government Gazette the law 5095/2024 (Government Gazette A’ 40/15-3-2024) which includes the regulation of the Ministry of Environment and Energy on reducing electricity costs for farmers and for energy-intensive industry.
As pointed out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the regulation provides possibility of cheap electricity tariffs to rural tariff holders and energy-intensive industrial consumers to strengthen their productive work, reduce production costs and strengthen Greek products against the competition.
In the framework of the regulation, it is sought that energy-intensive industrial consumers – with suitable bilateral contracts with companies that provide electricity – gain access to “cheap” green energy, through RES stations that are waiting to receive a Final Connection Offer from the Operator of the Hellenic Electricity Transmission System to implement their projects.
For belonging to the favorable provisions of the regulation, for the benefit of energy-intensive industrial consumers, the owners of APE stations should submit, electronically, to the Administrator of ESMIE and to the Directorate of Renewable Energy Sources and Alternative Fuels of the Ministry of Environment and Energy the required documents and data, which are described in par. 8 of article 30 “Measures to reduce energy costs for the promotion of the primary and secondary sector”.

It is noted that the regulation in question of the Ministry of Environment and Energy is included in the law, entitled: “Strengthening of jurisprudence: Regulations for inheritances, acceptances and renunciations of inheritances, registrations and eliminations of consensual mortgage notes and affidavits and for the Fund Financing of Court Buildings and the payment of legal aid cases and other urgent arrangements”.
