Two similar incidents with falling from ships of two men into the seawhich thankfully had a happy ending, happened yesterday according to the Coast Guard.

The first case it happened on Saturday afternoon when a 31-year-old man who was on board a ship running a scheduled Palukia Salamina-Perama route, found himself at sea for an unknown reason.

The man was spotted by another ship operating the Perama-Paloukia route of Salamina, which picked him up and transported him to the port of Paloukia of Salamina, in good health.

He then told Port Authority officials that he did not want further medical treatment. A preliminary investigation is carried out by the 3rd Port Department of Salamina of the Central Port Authority of Piraeus.

The second incident concerns the fall of a man into the sea at marina of Zea. Passers-by heard the man calling for help and immediately called the coast guard

Officers of the Port Authority rushed to the area with a patrol vehicle LS-EL.AKT., staff of the management body of the Zea marina as well as an auxiliary boat of the management body, with their assistance, a 46-year-old foreigner, crew member Tho, was rescued /C-A/Ψ of a vessel, which docks at the spot, being conscious and in a drunken state.

Afterwards, the man was taken to Piraeus General Hospital “ZANEIO” by EKAV ambulance.

A preliminary investigation is carried out by the 5th Zeas Port Department of the Central Port Authority of Piraeus.
