The Tourneo Connect Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) takes the model’s versatility and adaptability to the next level by allowing customers to electrify their driving experience by based on target up to 110 km purely with electricity and zeros Pollutants – especially in the growing number of low-emission zones in many European cities.

This new model also completes the electrification of Ford’s exciting new next-generation Tourneo family of passenger vehicles in Europe, which will additionally include the compact 5-seat E-Tourneo Courier, the 8-seat E Tourneo Custom, as well as the 9 -Tourneo Custom Plug-In Hybrid seat.

Orders for the new Tourneo Connect PHEV open in the summer of 2024, with first deliveries expected in the last quarter of the year.

Advanced PHEV technology

Tourneo Connect PHEV’s innovative new powertrain delivers a combined 150 PS and 350 Nm of torque incorporating a 1.5L EcoBoost gasoline engine, a high-voltage battery, an electric motor and a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. For long-distance travel the lithium-ion battery can be quickly charged at public direct current (DC) chargers with power up to 50 kWwhile recharging it with alternating current (AC) at home is possible with power up to 11 kW.

Tourneo Connect PHEV’s different driver programs help drivers optimize how they use battery power:

• EV Now: for driving using only the electric motor
• EV Auto: for balanced use of the electric motor and the petrol engine depending on the driving conditions
• EV Later: for driving only with the petrol engine, so that all the battery energy is saved for later use
• EV Reserve: to save a driver-specified battery power level for later use

Customers can choose between the 5-seat Tourneo Connect PHEV and the 7-seat Grand Tourneo Connect PHEV, which features a longer body length and a third row of seats with two seats is standard. The model’s spacious and versatile cabin remains unaffected by the new plug-in hybrid powertrain. By removing the two rear rows of seats, customers have at their disposal a loading space of up to 3.1 m3 on Grand Tourneo Connect PHEV and up to 2.6 m3 in the Tourneo Connect PHEV.

Tourneo Connect PHEV’s smart technology extends beyond the new powertrain. The spacious cabin has a digital cockpit with two 10-inch screens and connectivity via the SYNC infotainment system, which is compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay. The new electric model features the same advanced driver assistance systems as the Tourneo Connect petrol and diesel models, which have already achieved the maximum five-star rating from independent safety organization Euro NCAP. The technology suite includes Pro Trailer Backup Assist, Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Lane-Keeping System and Exit Warning.

Customers can get the most out of their vehicle quickly and easily using the intuitive app FordPass, which can show the remaining electric range, battery charge levels and the time until the battery is fully charged. For added convenience, the app is also able to trigger vehicle maintenance notifications and remote door locking and unlocking. It can also display the last known parking time and location to avoid fines.

Ford offers the new Tourneo Connect PHEV in the three already known versions:

• Trends: its high-spec standard equipment includes a digital cockpit and 16-inch alloy wheels
• Titanium: chrome details, roof rails, tinted windows and more driver assistance systems are added
• Active: with rugged SUV styling, a panoramic roof and 17-inch alloy wheels with a machined look
