With a money guarantee 700 thousand euros, and a ban on leaving the country, the third defendant who apologized to the European Investigator for contract 717 of ERGOSE for critical works on the railway network, a case for which they are accountable before the Court, was released a total of 23 defendants.

The third defendant from ERGOSE who apologized today Tuesday to the Investigator Christina Salappa left the courts free with an exit ban, but also the obligation – within a certain period of time – to pay a guarantee amount of 700 thousand euros. Regarding the criminal treatment of the accused after his confession, the Investigator and the competent mandated European Prosecutor Popi Papandreou, who signs the indictments drawn up for the controversial contract after the investigation by the European Public Prosecutor, agreed.

The first two apologies have preceded defendants, who had the supervision of the disputed projects on the part of ERGOSE, who were imposed a total monetary guarantee of 1.1 million euros (600 and 500 thousand euros).

It should be noted that for the disputed contract, the non-execution of the object of which, according to the judicial authorities, had an effect on the accident in ‘Adendros and the tragedy in Tempe, a total of 14 defendants from ERGOSE, 4 from the Administrative Authority of the Operational Program for Transport Infrastructure, Environment and Sustainable Development (EYD/EP-YMEPERAA) and 5 executives of the consortium that undertook the project.

Apologies will continue in the coming days and, as expected, the process will be completed at the end of April.
