“I’m not against them but with them”, was the characteristic phrase of the Supreme Court prosecutor about the relatives – The prosecutor explained that it is not possible to have a cover-up
“Absolutely no cover-up there is no justice in the case of the Tempe accident”, the Supreme Court prosecutor categorically stated, Georgia Adelini, speaking at the 9th Delphi Economic Forum.
At the same time, she categorically denied the information that she herself, in a meeting she had with relatives of the victims, he referred them for comfort to the church, saying that the unbearable pain of these people and their righteous indignation justified any misinterpretations of what he said. “I am not against them but with them”, was her characteristic phrase.
The Prosecutor explained that it is not possible for there to be a cover-up, since the justice system is obliged to immediately forward to the Parliament any evidence it may come across that is related to the responsibilities of political figures. In fact, he spoke of malicious criticisms against justice with the aim of involving her in matters of political controversy.
Ms. Adelini noted that the investigation into the tragic accident in Tempe is moving at a rapid paceunprecedented for Greek data, and that the investigation is nearing completion, without however giving a specific timetable, pointing out, however, that the appellant investigator of Larissa does not leave any important question or request of the victims’ relatives unanswered.
The prosecutor of the Supreme Court indicated that the investigator is waiting for the expert opinion he has ordered, in order to answer what the commercial train carried, as well as the results from a special laboratory in England where he has sent the video material.
Finally, when asked by the journalist of SKAI and Kathimerini, Ioanna Mandrou, about the heavy condemnation of our country by the European Parliament for rule of law issues, she pointed out that the resolution refers to a multitude of cases still pending in the courts, and spoke of an intervention that contravenes the principles of the rule of law. “Greece, according to European data, does not deviate from the European average, and in many matters he moves above him”, stressed Ms. Adeilini at the end.
