The trial in the second instance for the murder of the businessman Giannis Makris, outside his house, in Panorama Voulas on October 31, 2018, was postponed for September 19, 2022.
The accused in the case are two brothers, Bulgarian nationals, who in the first instance have been sentenced, the youngest, 34 years old, to life imprisonment as the perpetrator of the cold-blooded murder and the older, 38 years old, to 10 years in prison as an accomplice in the crime.
The trial before the Mixed Jury Court of Appeals was postponed following a request for the defense of the two accused, as their lawyer is trying them in another court, in which the lawyer of the Civil Action also consented.
In his statements, the ombudsman, who represents the wife of the victim Victoria Karyda, Giannis Marakakis, stated that
“Yesterday afternoon we were informed by the media that one of the witnesses who had been summoned to the trial but had not been summoned to court was murdered last Tuesday. He had identified the perpetrator of the murder, Makris “. He also stated that he hopes that information can be found from the cell phone of the perpetrator of the murder of the witness that will reveal the moral perpetrator of the murder of Makris.
