A 29-year-old man committed suicide in Glyfada after domestic episode he had with his 23-year-old partner of.
In particular, according to THE GREEK POLICE, the incident occurred shortly after 4 pm on Ikarias Street in Glyfada. A random patrol of hers was passing by OPKE who heard the commotion and approached, with neighbors informing them that a man was physically assaulting a woman.
When the 29-year-old man realized the presence of the police, he went up to his apartment on the 4th floor of an apartment building and locked himself, while the 23-year-old woman was taken to a safe place.
According to ELAS, under the coordination and guidance of the Coordination Operations Center, other police forces also attended, as well as EKAV stationFire Department and Negotiator.
The police forces were deployed around the perimeter, in order for a negotiation operation to take place, securing the area. Following a prosecutor’s order and while the man was unresponsive, the police entered the apartment, where they found the 29-year-old deceased, with a gunshot wound to the head.
According to information from police sources the 29-year-old he had been employed in the past for robberies while he was obliged, due to drug cases, to report to a police station.
