Recently, sports fans have identified more than 10,000 season tickets in Gov.gr Wallet
The curtain opens on the new system of entering the stadiums with the digital ticket on Gov.gr.wallet today at 3 in the afternoon, in the football match for the Superleague championship between Panserraikos – OFI. Fans must first register in the National Communication Registry (NMR) and insert their ticket into their digital wallet. The most forward-thinking of course have already proceeded with this process, as evidence shows that the total number of registrations in EMEP reached 4,066,669 registrations from the start of operation in March 2021 until April 11, while the Gov.gr Wallet digital wallet has now been installed by approximately 2 million citizens on their mobile phone (since its launch in July 2022).
Regarding season tickets recently, sports fans have identified more than 10,000 season tickets in Gov.gr Wallet (out of the approximately 80,000 season tickets that exist in total). However, as the Minister of Digital Governance has explained Dimitris Papastergiou, regarding the transfer of tickets (single and season tickets) is not possible through the Gov.gr Wallet application, as it is a matter of the PAE and pertains to the policy of the teams.
It is reminded that citizens for any problem they face regarding EMEp or Gov.gr Wallet can enter support.gov.gr and submit their request, while those who want to receive information on how to ‘download’ the gov .gr.wallet can be clicked on tickets.gov.gr where there is a detailed description. For any other queries fans may have, they can contact teams and providers (for ticket and ticket related queries and team related matters).
There will be an adjustment period for the fans until the end of the current season and therefore there will be a parallel operation for a month of both the new system and the old one, while from September the new entry method is expected to apply to the matches of the other sports, such as basketball.
Regarding the entry of fans over the age of 67, the minister has pointed out that for people belonging to this age group “there will be a special door so that identification can be done in the classic way” and underlined that the aim is “to free the Greek police from the presence of hundreds of police officers in the stadiums. Without having to have police officers at the entrances, to know who is entering the stadiums.”
The initiative and responsibility for planning measures to combat fan violence, the tripartite safe return to stadiums which included legislation, cameras put in place at the opening of stadiums and now the implementation of digital identification, rests with Deputy Minister of Sports, Yannis Vroutsiswhile the Ministry of Digital Governance contributed with the technological solution to the 3rd measure, i.e. the identification of the entrance to the stadiums with the digital ticket.
