The great actor died Giannis Fertis. The great protagonist of theater and cinema was 86 years old.
Yiannis Fertis was born in April 1938 and graduated from the Karolos Koun School of Theater Arts in 1958. He appeared for the first time in the theater in 1959 in the play “The Age of Night” by Iakovos Campanellis. This was followed by works such as “Chickens” by Aristophanes, “Eurydice” by Jean Anouille, “Sweet Bird of Youth” by Tennessee Williams, “Dangerous Turn” by John Presley, “Five Finger Exercise” by Peter Shafer, “The Double-Headed Eagle” by Jean Kokto.
From 1967 and for a decade, as troupe leader together with Xenia Kalogeropoulou, he staged important plays. His contribution to the Ancient Theatre, Greek cinema and television was significant. While with his characteristic voice he has dressed up a multitude of advertisements on television and radio.
His first wife was the actress Xenia Kalogeropoulou, the second the actress Mimi Denisi, while since 2001 he was married to the actress Marina Psaltis. The news of the death of the beloved actor was also confirmed by the president of SEH, Spyros Bibilas.
