A daily day for a marble shop in Zakynthos turned into a tragedy, as one of the owners was crushed by tons of marble while two more workers are in critical condition at the General Hospital of Zakynthos.
According to the first information, the three men were trying to get rid of marble sheets from the truck. For unknown reasons, the marbles fell on the three men inside the truck.
The two workers were released and transported to Zakynthos Hospital, while the owner of the store was in the back of the container carrying the marbles.
Firefighters, police, EKAB rescuers and ordinary citizens and colleagues tried to free him, who cut the sheet metal of the container in order to free the unfortunate man.
The release operation lasted more than half an hour and in order for the rescuers to reach the unfortunate man, a special machine, a clerk, was used to lift the marbles.
The unfortunate man was transported to the hospital of Zakynthos where he was pronounced dead. The causes of the accident are currently being investigated by the police.
