DIMEA: Fines of 90,900 euros for non-compliance with the measures against the coronavirus

Fines totaling 90,900 euros and suspension of operation for 45 days in a nightclub were imposed by Inter-Service Market Control Unit (TWO).

Specifically, during the period 18-20 February, DIMEA carried out 280 inspections for compliance with the measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus in Attica, Western Greece and Central Macedonia.

Fines totaling 90,900 euros were imposed and suspension of operation for a total of 45 days (in a recreation center for 30 days due to recurrence and in a health store for 15 days) for non-compliance with the prescribed rules.

Trafficking

In addition, the General Secretariat for Trade and Consumer Protection of the Ministry of Development and Investment announced the weekly operational activity of DIMEA to deal with illegal trade throughout the country:

1. During the period from 14.02.2022 to 20.02.2022, a total of 508 inspections were carried out and 667 infringements related to illegal trade were confirmed.

2. In cooperation with the Hellenic Police and with the assistance of the Municipal Police and the Cleaning Directorate of the Municipalities of Athens and Egaleo as well as the Municipal Police of Thessaloniki, DIMEA operations to combat illegal trade took place in Attica, Peloponnese, Western Greece and Central Macedonia.

3. They were imposed fines total height 67,750 eurosfor violations of the Rules for Distribution and Marketing of Services for outdoor trade, for the use of a terminal for accepting cards and means of payment by card and for dealing with the illegal trafficking of counterfeit / counterfeit products.

4. They were confiscated 4,422 pieces of counterfeit items, which were sold from online stores (e – shop).

5. They were confiscated and 40,240 pieces of industrial products and used items (no name) were destroyed.
