In sight of the police, the 39-year-old tried to escape on foot, reacting and causing damage to police equipment
He was arrested in the morning hours yesterday (18-4-2024) in the area of Acharna, by police officers of the Immediate Action, a 39-year-old citizen, for theft of vehicles in a row, violence against employees, disloyalty, damage to foreign property and violation of the law on addictive substances.
In particular, emergency police found the 39-year-old looking at a parked motorcycle in the area of Acharna, which had been reported stolen -3- days earlier.
At the sight of the policemen, the 39-year-old tried to escape on foot, showing a strong reaction and causing damage to the policeman’s equipment, but the policemen managed to immobilize him and took him to the Acharnon Security Department, which was placed under preliminary investigation.
In the possession of the 39-year-old, a small amount of cocaine was found and confiscated, a device which is connected to the vehicle’s brain for the purpose of starting, as well as burglary tools.
From the preliminary investigation of the Acharna Security Department, -3- cases of vehicle theft were discovered.
The accused has been arrested in the past for similar offences.
The arrested person was taken to the Criminal Prosecutor of Athens.
