From today, Wednesday, April 24, until September “Farmer’s Card” is activated which will be made available to producers (farmers and breeders), beneficiaries of agricultural subsidies, if they so wish, only with the request of the interested party to the cooperating bank that maintains his account.

Through the “Farmer’s Card” the beneficiary is given the opportunity to make purchases from companies that are included in the categories of those that trade products related to meeting the agricultural needs of producers (consumable agricultural supplies, such as seeds, medicines, fertilizers, animal feed, veterinary drugs, animal feed additives, fuels driving tractors, agricultural electricity, spare parts – agricultural machinery workshop), but also to pay off his debts to certified bodies submitting a Single Aid Declaration.

Through the “Farmer’s Card” producers are also given the opportunity to pay off their current debts to ELGA, OGA and the State, costs of issuing and using a work permit, as well as the cost of applying for agricultural aid.

The Minister of Rural Development and Food Lefteris Avgenakis, in his statements he states the following:

“With coordinated actions, this year, faster than last year, we are activating the “Farmer’s Card”, in order for each producer to face the acute problems that have been created due to the successive crises.
The energy and climate crisis and geostrategic instability are bringing increased production costs to the agricultural world.
We take advantage of every possibility that exists to be constantly on the side of the Greek farmer but also to facilitate the production process in the primary sector”.
