The judicial investigation of the Tempe train accident is taking a new turn. The Deputy Prosecutor for Appeals of Larisa, Katerina Matsi, decided to accept the appeal of P. Aslanidis – father of the victim of Tembo – against the rejection decision of the Prosecutor of first instance. Thus, it forwards the appeal to the Supreme Court which will then go to the Parliament, based on the law on the responsibility of ministers, in order to investigate any responsibilities of politicians.

The same information states that the Deputy Prosecutor also ordered a new preliminary examination for breach of duty or abetting a criminal, as well as on the issue of the gangbus in Tempi and whether important elements were lost for the investigation of the accident. Among other things, it requests an investigation into who gave the order for the so-called burying, as well as who gave the order for the removal of soil and other materials from the accident site.

These developments arose after the intervention of the Prosecutor of the Supreme Court, Mrs. G. Adelinis, to the Director of the Larisa Appeals Prosecutor’s Office, through which they request the investigation “of any disciplinary liability of the Prosecutor of First Instance, who issued a substantively dismissive order for denounced Ministers, as being involved in the Tempi Casein violation of article 86 of the Constitution and Law 3126/2003, article 4 § 4 on the criminal liability of Ministers”.
