Joint training of Air Force fighter jets with the Italian Air Force
Joint training with fighter aircraft of the Air Force and the Italian Air Force took place from April 23 to 24.
As announced today by the General Air Staff, a total of 8 F-16 Block 52+ Advanced fighter aircraft of the 335 Squadron and the 336 Squadron from the 116th Fighter Wing participated in the joint training, while the Italian Air Force participated with 12 Eurofighter fighter aircraft.
During the co-training, a total of 3 Dissimilar Air CombatTraining (DACT) 4 Vs 4 missions of increasing difficulty and complexity were executed.
Specifically, on April 23, two DACT missions were carried out within the Brindisi FIR with intermediate landings of 4 F-16 Block 52+ Advanced of the 335 Squadron at Gioia del Colle Air Base, while on April 24 a DACT mission was carried out within the Athens FIR.
The aim of the training activity was to increase the operational readiness, combat capability, cooperation and interoperability of the participants at a bilateral and inter-alliance level, concludes the announcement of the General Air Staff.
