Continued from Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, in cooperation with the Regions of Thessaly and Central Greece, the implementation of the framework of state aid to businesses affected by the extreme flooding phenomena of September 2023, as well as to agricultural holdings and livestock units for their damage to their equipment, in their foundation, in land capital and other related things, from the same natural disasters.

The framework includes (a) the granting of the first aid, (b) the granting of the advance payment of 50% of the State aid (incorporating the first aid granted), and (c) the granting of the final grant of the State aid (incorporating the advance granted) , which reaches 70% of the estimated damage with a maximum of 500,000 euros.

Thus, following the granting of first aid to businesses, agricultural holdings and livestock units affected by the unprecedented flooding phenomena, the granting of the advance payment of 50% of the state aid grant has started from December 2023. It is worth noting that the first aid to businesses, agricultural holdings and livestock units, continues in the context of the second cycle of the first aid and has so far reached in its entirety the 76.3 million euros.

Specifically, on Monday, April 22, 2024, they were paid 1,238,651 euros, as an advance payment of 50% of the state aid grant, to 252 businesses, agricultural holdings and livestock units. With the above payment they have been paid in total 37,141,211 euros, as an advance payment to 3,330 beneficiaries.

At the same time, in 1,523 cases of businesses, agricultural holdings and livestock units, the first aid of a total amount of 4,345,000 euros, which had been granted, was offset against the amount corresponding to the amount of the advance payment of 50% of the state aid grant. Therefore, the phase of granting the advance payment of 50% of the state aid to businesses, agricultural holdings and livestock units, has been completed for 4,853 beneficiaries, with the total amount of the grant reaching 41,486,211 euros.

The general secretariat of Natural Disaster Recovery and State Aid, in a context of close cooperation with the committees and levels of state aid of the Regions of Thessaly and Central Greece, continues the implementation of the state aid framework, both with first aid payments and the payments of the advance payment of 50% of the final grant, depending on the flow of data from the Regions.
