For the filling of 1,137 non-nursing staff positions, of which 538 concern the EKAB and 599 the country’s hospitals.
In the framework of the reinforcement of the personnel of the health structures under the responsibility of the Ministry of Health throughout the country, the decision to issue a notice was signed by the ASEP for the filling of 1,137 non-nursing staff positions, of which 538 concern the EKAB and 599 the country’s hospitals.
The Minister of Health Adonis Georgiadis stated:
“As we have already announced, in 2024 a total of 6,500 recruitments will be made in the Health sector to strengthen the ESY and EKAV hospitals. In this context, the decision to issue a notice by the ASEP was signed today to fill 1,137 positions of other, non-nursing, personnel, of which 538 concern the EKAB and 599 the country’s hospitals. Strengthening the staff of the National Health System is our main priority and for this we are making every possible effort with new recruitments and establishing incentives. We are moving forward at a fast pace, but also based on the real needs of the NHS for better patient service and dealing with malfunctions in departments and clinics across the country.”
Deputy Minister of Health Marios Themistokleous stated:
“We continue, firmly, faithful to our commitments, the reinforcement of the staff of the National Health System and of the EKAB. The 599 positions of other staff in our hospitals, together with the 704 new positions of qualified doctors, but also the 2,145 positions of nursing staff, will increase the dynamics of the NHS and will improve the quality of health care throughout the country. At the same time, our goal remains the support of EKAB. The 538 new positions will cover important needs of EKAB and will strengthen its staffing. With determination and planning, we continue the reforms in the health sector in order to create a more efficient, more durable, better quality NHS for all the citizens of our country.’
The General Secretary of Health Services Lilian-Venetia Vildiridis stated:
“As with the positions of the nursing staff, for the rational and efficient distribution of the positions of the other staff in the hospitals of the NHS and the EKAB, the requests of the hospitals and the National Center for Immediate Assistance were requested and evaluated, based on their current staffing, the their organizational positions, their deficiencies and needs in the relevant specialties. Particular emphasis was placed with regard to the EKAB on the allocation of 506 Ambulance Crew DE positions, while with regard to hospitals the allocation of 117 trauma carrier/patient transport positions. The non-negotiable goal of the Ministry of Health is to improve the quality of the pre-hospital and hospital care services provided, and all the decisions we make aim to serve it.”
