The Volvo EX30 small SUV was awarded the prestigious Red Dot: Best of the Best Product Design 2024 award.
The award is a recognition of design excellence based on the quality of 4 basic principles of good design: function, charm, usability and responsibility. The panel of 39 experts from around the world chose the EX30 as the winner in a highly competitive field, with an overall score of 93/100.
“The Volvo EX30 embodies the design values of Volvo Cars in a smaller form factor and is an example of premium Scandinavian design, where form follows function,” says Jim Rowan, CEO of Volvo Cars. “The EX30 boasts the lowest carbon footprint of any all-electric Volvo to date and is designed to be as safe as you’d expect from a Volvo. It brings a host of highly advanced technologies and is a perfect fit for today’s market as an increasing number of car buyers make the transition to electric cars.”
The EX30 has a long wheelbase, large wheels and overhangs that add balance and elegance to the exterior. Using natural and recycled materials in the car is another step towards our sustainability goals. In addition, we took advantage of the electric car space and created a central theme for everything from storage spaces to controls and displays, achieving a versatile space with premium proportions.
