The birthday of the kingdom of Great Britain is May 1, 1707. The first monarch of Great Britain, the state dreamed of by James I and VI, was the daughter of the Catholic James II, Anne, a Protestant herself, who had succeeded in 1702 her brother-in-law, William III of Orange. As she herself failed to leave descendants, in 1714 she was succeeded by her distant cousin, George I of Hanover, ushering in the beginning of a new dynasty in the country.

The execution of 200 Greek patriots is one of the bloodiest pages of the Nazis in World War II. Their execution was in retaliation for the murder of a high-ranking German officer and three of his companions by the EAM. The 200 of Kaisariani, the vast majority of them were former Akronaflians, communists who had been held in Akronaflian prisons since the dictatorial regime of August 4th.
