With the first joyful ringing of the bell of Agios Charalambos, hundreds of boots ethey broke into the historic center of Preveza sending the victory of life over death.

Crowds of people filled the streets around the church from early on, while the signal for the start of the custom was given by the mayor of Preveza, Nikos Georgakos, who expressed his great joy at the response of the people and the preference shown by the visitors to the city, sending to all his wishes for health and happiness.

In Agios Charalambos were also the thematic deputy regional governor Tasos Drakos, deputy mayors, the president of the municipal council Dimitra Aidoni, regional and municipal councilors, the president of the Chamber Yiannis Bouris, the president of the Historical Center Commercial Association Ioanna Kotsis, the president of the Harmony Choir Kosmas Koronaios etc.

The municipality welcomed the people by handing out suzuki and boots, while the municipal philharmonic played happy tunes.

There were many who rushed to take with them pieces of the clay objects as a souvenir of this special event that began in the years of Turkish rule, was preserved by the shopkeepers of Shaytan Bazaar and later spread throughout the city.

Boots were also broken in other parts of the city, while crews from the municipality took care of the immediate cleaning of the historic center.
