In addition to the doctor who operated on the victim, another colleague from the Kavala hospital is sitting in the defendant’s chair, who allegedly did not deal with the situation after the complications.
In accordance with GRTIMES, with the testimony of the victim’s father, the hearing process began. The witness witnessed the medical operations performed on his 27-year-old son, the deterioration of his health and the treatment he received from the doctors, after a routine surgery.
“Is it possible for a child to die in a hospital for so many days? I saw an indifference. It is a crime! When the child was forgiven, the doctor prepared the papers to bury him. “I asked for a forensic examination,” the father testified, among other things.
The first doctor also operated on the priest’s 14-year-old daughter, who eventually died in Thessaloniki, after a gastric band was placed.
The incident was recorded in May 2017. The 24-year-old from Keramoti, Kavala, who was overweight, had decided to proceed with the placement of a gastric band while receiving the surgeon’s assurance that everything would be fine, despite his own concerns.
According to the medical examiner’s conclusion, the death occurred due to multiorgan failure on the ground peritonitis.
