It is hot in São Paulo, and temperatures are expected to reach 30ºC in the next few days. But after Covid spread across the country, it is increasingly difficult to leave the house to cool off, as many swimming pools have been closed because of the pandemic and travel has also been suspended. But now, with the advancement of vaccination, this is slowly changing.
Hotel swimming pools appear as a good option to alleviate the São Paulo heat a little. Some hotels in the city open their leisure areas — sometimes including other spaces, such as a sauna and gym — on a “day use” system. That is, after paying a fee, it is possible to enjoy these places without being hosted.
For rainy days, quite common in São Paulo at this time of year, there are also some indoor pools, usually inside the buildings.
See, below, a list of ten hotels in the capital of São Paulo that open their doors to those who want to spend an afternoon cooling off without being a guest. Prices start from R$95 per person — but can exceed R$1,500, depending on the address and amenities offered.
If you’re leaving the house, be sure to wear a good mask and keep distance.
