La Casserole restaurant, one of the most traditional in the capital of São Paulo, celebrates this month 70 years since its foundation, at the same address, in 1954.
The Frenchman from Largo do Arouche will hold a celebration that will last seven months and pay homage to the pillars that made it a symbol of the center of São Paulo.

In May, the restaurant offers a tasting menu in seven stages, each one designed by a guest chef, offered from Tuesday to Thursday at dinners until the end of the month. Maurício Santi, from the Thai Ping Yang Thai Bar & Food, signs the Viet steak tartare in the appetizers category, alongside the crispy smoked salmon cone and goat cheese and herb mousse from Erisvaldo Gomes (former chef of the birthday boy Le Casserole) .
Also included are two starters —one by Dani França Pinto, chef of the house, from the adjacent bar Infini and Cortés—, the first course —the boyfriend and dill quenelle, sururu, peas and champagne sauce— signed by Giovanni Renê (Braza and La Coppa, restaurants at Allianz Parque), second course and dessert.

The next few months also continue with lively programming. In June, a menu of original drinks signed by the award-winning Chula Barmaid (Cineclube Cortina), inspired by French classics from the 1950s. July will be the month of flambéed dishes — customers will be able to try options such as steak poivre with cognac and escargots flambéed in liquor.
Tuesdays in August will be dedicated to music in the house. Singer Suzana Salles, linked to the Vanguarda Paulista movement, curates names linked to the capital’s scene to liven up dinners at the restaurant. September will celebrate the visual arts and national artists remembering events that marked the trajectory of La Casserole, while October will bring the launch of three labels commemorating the house’s anniversary.
The celebrations end in November with a masquerade ball inspired by cruise and European parties that the founders of the house, French immigrants Fortunée and Roger Henry, used to attend. The restaurant has been run by Marie-France Henry, the couple’s restaurateur and daughter, since the 1990s, and her son, Leo Henry, who joined his mother in 2013.
