The Narcotics Prosecution sub-directorate proceeded to dismantle a criminal organization, whose members were active in the trafficking of quantities of heroin in the wider area of ​​Attica.

In an organized police operation carried out yesterday by the Narcotics Prosecution Department of Western Attica, with the assistance of E.K.A.M. and OPKE, 5 members of the organization were arrested, while 18 more members are included in the case file.

According to ELAS, the certification of their criminal activity was preceded by appropriate utilization of information data, verifications and cross-checking of data, use of special investigative techniques and creation of profiles of those involved (profiling).

At the same time, the role of key members of the organization was specified as follows:

* 50-year-old, leading member, was in charge of finding, falsifying and repackaging narcotics, as well as supplying the other members,

* 59 years old, was in charge of storing and guarding the drugs as well as the necessary tools in a container owned by him, while delivering the drugs to the leading member for further trafficking,

* A 61-year-old and a 46-year-old, middlemen of the leadership and the other members, had undertaken the receipt, storage and distribution of the drugs,

* 55-year-old (not arrested), assisted drug traffickers,

* A 68-year-old and a 46-year-old (not arrested), had undertaken the further sale of drugs in areas of Athens.

From the physical searches as well as from the searches of houses and storage areas, a total of the following were found and seized:

* 2 kg and 646.88 grams. heroin,

* 9 hemp seedlings,

* amount of cannabis,

* 6 kg and 730 of powder, of unknown chemical composition,

* 15,825 euros and 51 dollars,

* 16 mobiles,

* 6 scales,

* 3 vehicles,

* motorcycle and

* drug adulteration and repackaging equipment.

As pointed out by ELAS, from the investigations so far more than 200 transactions – buying and selling of narcotic substances have been identified.

Those arrested, with the case filed against them, were taken to the competent prosecutor’s office, while investigations to identify and arrest the remaining members continue.
