Another reason a car engine can overheat is from leaks in the cooling circuit or from the radiator itself
The increased use of the car, insufficient maintenance, use under high temperatures and increased load, increase the chances of engine overheating. There are not a few times during the journey that we see cars stopped on the side of the road, with the hood up and the main cause being overheating.
In this case the first thing the driver should check in the car is the coolant. When car coolant levels are low, the engine cannot run efficiently and the result of the low level is the engine overheating. All he has to do, after letting the temperature in the engine drop, is to add antifreeze.
On the other hand if the water pump is not working properly then the coolant will not be able to circulate and cool the engine, however all cars have a thermostat. When the vehicle is cold, the thermostat valve remains closed and does not allow coolant to pass through the circuit. But when it starts to warm up, the valve opens and allows the coolant to move through the circuit. If this is damaged or stuck, then the increase in temperature is a natural consequence. In case there is a problem with the thermostat, the damage can be so great that it even costs you to change the engine.
Another reason the car engine can overheat is from leaks in the cooling circuit or from the radiator itself. The driver must check the entire circuit and see for any leaks. A few drops of coolant or some moisture in the radiator and piping will show him where the problem is.
However, an important role the driving conditions of the car also play a role. Asking the car’s engine to work at full speed, with a heavy load and at the same time with an increased outside temperature, then the increase in its temperature is a natural consequence. If the driver also has an uphill route, then there is an additional reason to increase the temperature.
If the engine overheats, the driver must park safely on the side of the road or in a parking space taking all necessary precautions. In case the car air conditioning is on, it should be switched off as it puts a strain on the engine. Instead, it should activate the radiator because it draws heat from the coolant and thus reduces the engine temperature to a certain extent. If upon activation the temperature light turns off then this means that everything is working well again. If the problem persists then the engine should be idled. If there is no other problem the temperature will start to drop.
The driver should check the fan cooling system to make sure it is working properly. If it doesn’t work then there may be water vapour, in which case you should turn off the engine and let the car cool down without opening the hood as burns may occur. Finally, whatever the case, the driver should visit a repair shop as soon as possible in order to solve the problem because the increase in temperature is a major problem that makes the operation of the engine impossible.
