The Municipality of Kifissia issued an announcement about the accident with the gate that crushed a 9-year-old child in a primary school.
“Today around 13:00 pm, there was an incident of the external gate falling at the 3rd Primary School of Kifissia on a 3rd Primary student. The student was transferred for a check-up to the Pentelis Children’s Hospital, where according to the Hospital Administration, without any wounds or obvious trauma, he will remain as a precaution for additional monitoring”, it is said and added:
“The new municipal authority, immediately after its installation in January, proceeded, through the Primary School Committee of the Municipality of Kifissia, with autopsies in all the school units of the Municipality and immediately proceeded with a contract for the replacement of the door in question at the 3rd Primary School, satisfying a long-standing request of the school community.
In this context and with the safety of the students in mind, the Municipality of Kifissia immediately proceeds with the termination of the relevant contract with the said contractor and at the same time initiates the legal procedures, in order to investigate in depth the conditions under which the incident took place ».
