The non-suspension of regular surgical cases was decided today unanimously by its Board of Directors “Aglaia Kyriakou” Children’s Hospitalstating that “there is no security issue and the three surgical banks can operate daily”.
It is recalled that the surgical department of the “Aglaia Kyriakou” hospital had decided to suspend surgeries from Monday, May 27, due to a lack of anesthesiologists and nurses.
The doctors of “Agia Sophia” had also decided to suspend the regular surgeries from June 1st, however, after the assurances they received about the reinforcement of the staff, they suspended the mobilization.
As stated in the announcement of the “Aglaia Kyriakou” hospital, in an extraordinary meeting of the Board of Directors on the subject of “Information and decision-making regarding the suspension of the regular surgeries of the Hospital” and “after taking into account the categorical assurance of both the Director of the Medical Service and of the Director of the Surgical Department, that there is no security issue with the existing staff and the three surgical banks can operate daily, unanimously decided not to suspend the regular surgical cases, from Monday 27.05.2024”.
