The interest is especially focused on the Notarial Associations of Athens and Thessaloniki

In electoral contest descend the notaries at a critical juncture for the industry due to technological developments and more general changes, at a time when real estate sales and other notarial transactions have significantly increased.
The notaries they are called tomorrow Sunday and the day after tomorrow Monday (May 26 and 27), throughout Greece to vote for new administrations of their Associations.
Interest is especially focused on Notarial Associations of Athens and Thessaloniki, mainly of Athens, which covers a large region throughout the country (Attica, Cyclades, Sporades, North Aegean and Dodecanese) and represents more than half the number of notaries nationwide.
In the Association of Athens (SSEAPAD) the vote of their colleagues is claimed for the first time by five combinations of councilors, one of which is led by the outgoing president G. Ruska. For the first time such a large division appears as usually the formations of candidate councilors did not exceed two and at least three times.
Among those that stand out is the solid and active group of the so-called opposition, the combination that goes to the elections as (Due to Honor) which consists of six members of the previous Board of Directors, who were also the dynamic minority of the outgoing administration, with the best known experienced notary Christina Mandrou and the Pano Horatio Kouta as well as other notaries active in the Association.
The group of advisors of the majority, although in the interim it has accepted departures, is again addressed to the notaries led by the current president George Rouskas and stand out in its composition Happiness Karastathi and the El. Maroulaki.
The future of the “Symbolography with Future” combination is unknown and the influence of this group is uncertain, as it appears for the first time composed of the core of persons who were in the two previous combinations, among which the Theodoros Chalkidisgeneral secretary of the Association in recent years, close associate of the current president Mr. Rouskas and representative at the Land Registry.
But the eyes are mainly focused on the presidential candidates.
For the SSEAPAD, the three-term president Mr. Rouskas is once again running for office, whose election last time caused reactions as it was secured through a court decision, the product of many months of court proceedings.
The majority of the outgoing administration is credited with the positive development of keeping the notary document unchanged and aborting the plan for a digital contract, but it is criticized for the failure to transfer material to the industry from the attempted decongestion of the courts, material entrusted to lawyers and the establishment of “competency” with those in inheritance acceptances, as well as its inability to resolve important problems of notaries in the interest of citizens.
Opposition and Eleni Kontogiorgou, the oldest trade union executive with participation in critical positions, of general secretary and vice president in recent years. Her eventual election will break the male-dominated presidency in a predominantly female-dominated profession.
Finally, the candidate for the presidency of SSEAPAD is Stylianos Revelasa former notary public, who has time against him as he ran at the last minute.
At Thessaloniki the current president returns as the only candidate Dimitrios Tzimaswhile the vote of notaries is claimed by old and new in the other Associations as well.
The results will largely determine the future of this institutional profession which is a guarantor for transactions in the real estate market and beyond, mainly due to the rapid developments in technology and the globalization of markets.
