One of the volunteers was stabbed 3 times in the back and once more in the shoulder, while his nose was also broken from the blows
A group of volunteers was brutally attacked on Friday night in Parnitha.
As they describe with a story on Instagram, the volunteers themselves last Friday decided to help the action of the organization VA Saving his Hood by collecting a lot of garbage from Western Parnitha. The action was going to continue the next day and so some decided to spend the night in an abandoned building opposite the Cold Spring Tribe site.
At approximately 1:30 in the morning two cars arrived at the scene. When the youths noticed the campers, they approached them with flashlights and mobbed them asking: “Where are you from? We are from Menidi”. When they explained that they are volunteers cleaning the mountain, the strangers left. However, after 10 minutes, they returned in cars and as one of the victims of the attack says, they shouted “We made a comeback”.
“We couldn’t react because we were lying on the floor and so they started hitting and stabbing us mercilessly” says a victim of the attack, adding that they didn’t have time to react.
One of the volunteers was stabbed 3 times in the back and once more in the shoulder, while his nose was also broken from the blows. They also say they spent half the night worrying about the fate of the volunteer with the multiple stab wounds, but he escaped with his life.
The story ends with the volunteer commenting: “We have met up close all the animals of the Greek countryside (bears, wolves, etc.) but in the end only humans harmed us.”
