The 57-year-old businessman from Glyfada, who is accused of being involved in a circuit of trafficking in anabolic substances and other pharmaceutical preparations, was sentenced to pre-trial detention after his plea.

The 70-year-old, the second defendant in the case, who was released on the condition that he must appear once a month at the police station, also gave an apology.

The 57-year-old is reportedly contesting the indictment that has been drawn up against him, which attributes to him a leading role in the production and storage of anabolic steroids in the basement of his home. According to the accused, his involvement with anabolic pills concerned his own experiments as a chemical engineer. The disputed preparations, as he allegedly claims, were used by him.

Both the 57-year-old and the 70-year-old, who reportedly claims to have done odd jobs for his co-accused, are said to dispute the amount of drugs seized, claiming it was far less than what was recorded by police.
