In court, the manic-depressive offender argued that his employer had treated him impeccably
To prosecutor One of the misdemeanors of Volos was brought to an ex parte procedure yesterday 35 years old from St. Konstantinos Fthiotidas, who in the last few weeks has been working seasonally at Skiathos in a friend’s cafe.
The 35-year-old, over a fight, stab in the stomach his peer employer, on the occasion of a suitcase.
Specifically, the 35-year-old had various issues with his roommate. He had stated that he wanted to stop work and return to his place of residence.
The reason was a suitcase with clothes as the perpetrator thought that him he was stealing. She called him and said “either you come or I’ll open the suitcase”. However, it was not the roommate who went to the scene, but the owner of the business. The perpetrator had grabbed one kitchen knife and had hidden it in the pocket of his sweatshirt. At one point and in his frenzy, he took out the knife because he wanted to rip open the suitcase, believing that his stolen clothes and belongings were there.
However, his employer did not let him go and then stabbed him with a sharp movement to the left, low in the abdomen, without causing any serious injury to the victim’s internal organ. The unfortunate man, who is in good health, was taken to the island’s health center to be given first aid.
“I’m so sorry”
In court, the perpetrator argued that his employer has behaved impeccably and he cannot explain why he did this.
“I apologize a thousand times” he said and – as he admitted – he had problems with his roommate and lost control.
The perpetrator has a serious medical history as years ago he had a fall from the first floor, as a result of which he suffered a serious head injury, causing him brain injuries and a manic-depressive mood.
The family’s lawyer in his defense requested a medical examination, which was rejected by the court. He was eventually sentenced to 33 months in prison, of which he will serve four and the rest suspended, with no suspensive appeal, for dangerous bodily harm, use of a weapon and possession of a weapon. Finally, the headquarters requested that the knife be confiscated and destroyed.
