The frantic celebrations for Olympiakos in Evia did not end well for a shop in Chalkida, which was engulfed in flames.
The celebrations of thousands of young people who flooded the night of Wednesday, May 29 after the victory of Olympiakos in the conference league, in Evia, did not end well.
Images of total destruction, in particular, are recorded in a catering business, on the beach of Chalkida, right next to the town hall, which was engulfed in flames from a torch that was lit in the context of the excitement for winning the European Cup.
Eyewitnesses who spoke to evima.gr about the incident, spoke of a firecracker that exploded in the store or even… a hand grenade.
However, the fire was caused by a torch thrown by someone, causing the area to burst into flames.
The fire caused serious damage to the store while people who were there tried to break down the door to put out the fire themselves, before the Fire Department arrived at the store.
