According to a related announcement, the Parliament responded to the request of the Association of People with Multiple Sclerosis, with the aim of raising awareness and information about the problems caused by this disease, but also removing fear and prejudices when hearing about the disease.

The Association of People with Multiple Sclerosis is a non-profit organization that has been operating since 2007, founded and managed exclusively by patients, to serve, inform and support people with Multiple Sclerosis in the whole spectrum of their needs.
It is estimated that 2,500,000 people worldwide, of which 500,000 live in the European Union, suffer from Multiple Sclerosis. In Greece, the number of sufferers, based on statistical data, is estimated at 23,000 people, of which approximately 11,000 are in Attica.
