The ground and air forces working on the fire that has broken out in an agroforestry area in the Almyropotamos area of the Municipality of Kymi-Aliveri in Evia have been reinforced.
According to information from the Fire Department, at the moment the fire presents an improved picture with the fire brigades dealing with several scattered outbreaks, however there is no longer a large front.

To extinguish the fire, 56 firefighters with 2 groups of pedestrian units and 20 vehicles are working, while 5 aircraft and 1 helicopter were mobilized from the air. Membership is provided by volunteers and local water bodies.
Earlier, a message via 112 was sent to the residents of Almyropotamos calling on them to remain alert and follow the instructions of the authorities due to the ongoing forest fire. Specifically, the message states: “Forest fire in the Almyropotamos region of Evia. Stay ready. Follow the authorities’ instructions.”
