The disappearance of BBC presenter Michael Mosley, who has been missing since Wednesday on the island of Symi, is turning into a thriller.

A large operation has been set up to locate the British presenter, including a police dog and a drone that have been “combing” hard-to-reach areas since yesterday. A helicopter from Athens has also been dispatched to the investigations, with the authorities focusing on the Pedi area where he was last seen by a woman. Speaking to ERT, the woman said:at 14:20 I leave my house to go to the rooms and I see him next to garbage cans talking to someone, somewhat old» he initially described. “The other who was next to him he was wearing a very thin plaid shirt“, he continued.

The mayor of the island, Eleftherios Papakalodoukas, said that the firefighters conducting the investigation informed him that they considered it impossible for the journalist to still be there. Mr. Papakalodoukas believes that it is possible that he either “followed another path” or fell into the sea.

“It’s a very small, controlled area, full of people. So if something had happened to him there, we would have found him by now,” he told BBC News.

According to EL.AS, the traces of the presenter were lost when he decided to leave his wife on the beach of Agios Nikolaos and go for a walk in the center of the island on Wednesday. Since then he has not contacted any of his own people.

His phone was found in the accommodation he shared with his wife, who reported him missing, having forgotten it there.

His disappearance became known in Britain and the country’s major media made the news known through emergency updates. The 67-year-old presenter is best known for programs such as the BBC’s Trust Me, I’m A Doctor and for his appearances on the BBC’s The One Show and ITV’s This Morning.
