“There is a sufficient number of screens and polling stations in the municipalities, as there are fewer polling stations due to the postal vote,” said Konstantinos Michaelidis
The services of the Region of Central Macedonia and the municipalities are fully prepared for the conduct of the European elections. The polling stations in all seven regional units, which will be waiting for voters from 7 am to 7 pm on Sunday, amount to 2,829 and are reduced by 822, a rate of 22%, compared to the municipal elections held in October of 2023.
“We distributed the electoral materials, ballots, blanks, electoral rolls, stationery, while the tablets are distributed to the judicial representatives. There is a sufficient number of screens and polling stations in the municipalities, as the polling stations are fewer due to the postal vote,” the head of the General Directorate of Internal Organization and Operation of the Region of Central Macedonia, Konstantinos Michaelidis, told APE-MPE.
Mr. Michaelidis added that the services of the region will be on their feet during the weekend as well, while from Sunday afternoon and with the closing of the ballot box they will receive the telegrams of the results of the combinations, which will then be sent to the Ministry of the Interior.
Of the total 2,829 polling stations in the 7 regional units of the Central Macedonia region, most (1,340) will be located in the A’ and B’ electoral regions of Thessaloniki.
