Him Epaminonda Korkonea arrested at noon on Friday by Kalamata Police officers in Stoupa, where he lived.

According to ERT, the arrested person did not resist his arrest and is currently being held at the Messinia police headquarters while he is expected to return to Domokos prisons.

An order from the Lamia Appeals Prosecutor’s Office was pending against the former special guard in order to continue the execution of the decision of the Amfissa Joint Jury for the murder of the then 15-year-old Alexis Grigoropoulou on December 6, 2008 in Exarchia.

He will be tried for the 4th time

For the fourth time, the former special guard Epaminondas Korkoneas will be tried for the case of the murder of Alexandros Grigoropoulos, on December 6, 2008. And this, because the decision of the Mixed Court of Appeal of Lamia, regarding the part of his recognition, was overturned by the Areopagus mitigating legal life, which had the effect of breaking the life sentences, a sentence which had been imposed in the first instance by the Mixed Jury Court of Amfissa.

The Supreme Court also accepted the second appeal against the appellate decision regarding the issue of the recognition of the extenuating circumstances of common-law life for Epaminondas Korkoneas.

As a result, the former special guard will be brought before the courts again, for the fourth time, which will be called upon to rule on the recognition or non-recognition of the mitigating factor against him.
