Three students lost last year because their parents did not want the self-tests, Prodromos Fotakidis, a high school teacher in Drama, told SKAI, while he stated that this year two of the three students, brothers, “disappeared”, ie they never reappeared at school.
“Last school year, three children from the 2nd Lyceum lost the year because when we came back after the lockdown, they did not come to school when we had to do the self-tests. They did not come at all for two months, until the end of the school year. “The two were brothers and a child alone.”
With one parent who was present at the school, Mr. Fotakis explained, he was one of those parents who disputes everything that self-tests are dangerous because they do not offer protection …
“They wore masks last September and did not take self-tests. “This year a little girl changed school in Drama, the siblings are lost, we have no information,” he stressed. The teacher clarified that if students receive a transfer, we will find out why they have to get papers. “One child was transferred and the two brothers went to another school…”
“We talked like a school at some point with the older brother of the children we had a student with before and he said they would not come to school,” the teacher noted.
Mr. Fotakidis reminded that education in the Lyceum is not compulsory and there is a malfunction of the law. “It goes without saying that we informed the competent authorities, all the necessary updates were made. The answer was that education is not compulsory. “The school can do nothing,” he clarified.
