In the Attic sky and above the mountains of the Basin 25 Civil Protection drones are now flying, 24 hours a day. Using lasers that give the coordinates of the event, zoom, as well as wide-angle and thermal cameras, they record images that are transferred live to the war room of the Operations Center at the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, resulting in the immediate mobilization of firefighters.

Already several dangerous fires, which would have had disastrous consequences if not dealt with within the first minutes of their occurrence, have been detected by drones.

A typical example is the fire that occurred a few days ago at Panorama Voulas. The drone detected the smoke from the first moment and the fire brigade was on the scene in just 4 minutes, tackling the fire in time, before it could threaten homes and lives.

The drone system currently covers the mountains of Attica (Parnitha, Ymitto, Penteli and Porto Germeno) in collaboration with the Municipalities of Voula-Varis-Vouliagmeni, Dionysos, Kifissia, Mandra, Penteli, Phylis and Aspropyrgos. The goal of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection is to add more points and expand the drone systems throughout the territory.
