The 13 people who were brought to the Piraeus courts this morning are the crew of the yacht that was rented by tourists. Fireworks were allegedly launched from the yacht, which may have caused the fire on the island of Argosaronicos.

The yacht had been rented by tourists from Kazakhstan, who were vacationing in Greece and were released. The 13 crew were arrested on Saturday by officers from the Fire Brigade’s Arson Squad, which has taken over the investigation into the case, which is ongoing.

For the case, the Hydra Port Authority has collected all the details of the boats that were in the sea area patrolled by a coast guard boat, as a boat captain from an adjacent bay has reportedly reported that in the area where the fire broke out, fireworks fell from a boat.

He has given a detailed statement to the Fire Department, which is expected to play a pivotal role in the continuation of the case.

The prosecutor’s authorities requested the temporary seizure of the boat from where the fireworks “fell” in Hydra, causing the fire in an inaccessible area of ​​the island.

At the same time, the confiscation process of the yacht, which is currently under the old airport of Ellinikos, is underway.
