One breath before its inauguration, which is expected on 17/7 and will also mark the start of its operation, the first n afternoon market in Greece, which will be established in west Thessaloniki and will be developed on a side street after the school complex at the junction of Kotta Roulia Street with Mazaraki Street, until its junction with Dafnis Street.

“Provided that there will be no objections, we have planned and are ready to inaugurate the first afternoon public market in Greece in 14 days from today, i.e. on Wednesday 17/7” pointed out the president of the Public Markets Authority , Grigoris Kotsopoulos (lawyer), speaking to APE-MBE, on the sidelines of the first focused discussion organized, today, by the Central Market of Thessaloniki SA (KATH), with the aim of exploring partnerships in order to achieve a reduction in the loss of fresh fruits and vegetables and of organic waste in the Metropolitan Unit of Thessaloniki.

So, as long as everything runs smoothly and there are no unexpected obstacles, consumers in western Thessaloniki from 17/7 will be able to make their purchases from the public market in the afternoon, as it will be operating Every Wednesdayfrom 12 noon to 6 pm.

The street with 80 stalls will be developed on Kotta Roulia, in a length of approximately 300 linear meters and will be configured by sectors and by identified items for sale, which will be displayed by the sellers in homogeneous sales displays and equipment that they will have to have.

The operation of the public market will upgrade the area and, in combination with the shopping center that operates near it, will give a sense of security to the area, as has been repeatedly emphasized by the municipality of Thessaloniki, with the competent management noting that the operation of the school complex will not be affected by the public market.
