Special attention to citizens, recommends the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Vassilis Kikiliaon the occasion of the upcoming bad weather.

After the emergency meeting of the Risk Assessment Committee on the dangerous weather phenomena with severe storms and very intense lightning activity tomorrow in many areas of the country, Mr. Kikilias proceeded with the following announcement:

According to the forecasts, the biggest problems will occur in the morning hours in Halkidiki and the neighboring areas (i.e. the southern areas of the prefectures of Thessaloniki, Serres, Kavala and the Sporades), while from noon until late at night the phenomena will extend to Fthiotida, Fokida , Boeotia, Attica, Corinth and Argolis.

Also, residents and visitors should be especially careful with the burini in sea, which we all know how dangerous they are, while in the areas where there will be heavy rains special attention should be paid to the streams.

The fact that until yesterday we were dealing with large fires and tomorrow we have to manage extreme rainfall reflects the magnitude of the climate crisis we are now experiencing in our country.

The Civil Protection Coordinating Committee will meet shortly, so that the Fire Brigade, Coast Guard, ELAS, of course the Armed Forces and the Local Self-Government of the first and second degree are at maximum readiness.
