An unspeakable tragedy occurred in Amfilochia on the morning of Saturday, July 13, with a heinous crime that plunged the local community into mourning.

The incident concerns the murder of a 37-year-old woman by her husband, who then committed suicide.

According to information from e-maistros.gr, the dramatic incident unfolded when the 37-year-old woman returned home at dawn.

Her estranged husband had set up a murder plot. The attacker, waiting for her arrival, jumped from the first floor balcony onto the roof of her car and started shooting. After fatally wounding his wife, he turned the gun on himself and killed himself.

Neighbors and friends of the couple describe a relationship full of tensions and problems. The two young people, aged about 37 and 42, had recently moved away from each other, with the husband not accepting their separation.

The couple left behind two teenage children.

The local community of Amfilochia is shocked by the event.

According to EL.AS, last Thursday (July 11, 2024) the 36-year-old woman filed a lawsuit against the 43-year-old man for incidents of domestic violence and threats, which occurred on July 10, 2024, but it was not possible to arrest the 43-year-old within the limits of self-driving car, while the victim did not wish to be transferred to a structure, nor to be granted the application of the “panic button”.

“In the early hours of today, Saturday July 13, 2024, a 36-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man were found dead in the area of ​​Amfilochia, who suffered a shotgun wound.

As it emerged from the first evidence, the 43-year-old shot his 36-year-old estranged wife, who was found dead in a vehicle, and then killed himself a few meters away from the vehicle with the same weapon, which was found next to him.

It should be noted that on Thursday, July 11, 2024, the 36-year-old woman filed a lawsuit against the 43-year-old man for illegal domestic violence and threats, which took place on July 10, 2024, but it was not possible to arrest him within the limits of the autoforo, while the patient did not she wished to be transferred to a structure, nor to be granted the application of the “panic button”.

Also, on May 12, 2024, the 43-year-old man, following the filing of a lawsuit by the 36-year-old woman, was arrested within the limits of the police station for domestic violence, insults, threats and bodily harm, while he subsequently filed a lawsuit against the 36-year-old woman for domestic violence.

The two arrested were taken to the competent Prosecutor and then acquitted during the hearing of the case”.
