given the rapid increase of the cases of coronavirus observed in the last few days in the community, the Oncology Hospital “Metaxa”, is proceeding to receive / update and observe strict protection measures against covid-19.

As announced by the Governor of the Hospital, Sarandos Efstathopoulos, the measures will be in force for the next 15 days, with the primary aim of protecting oncological patients of the Hospital.

In particular, the measures that should be strictly observed by the staff and accompanying patients for the next 15 days are:

  • Use of a mask in all internal areas of the hospital and especially in patient wards.
  • Compliance with hygiene rules (hand washing, etc.).
  • Two companions per patient with a card to be issued by the nursing service (not simultaneous presence)
  • 48-hour rapid test for patient attendants.
  • 48-hour rapid test for those who come to outpatient clinics.
  • Rapid test on staff for symptoms.

“I am asking for the cooperation of the relevant departments and departments for the immediate implementation of the above-mentioned measures and the correct information of the staff, patients and their companions, through the distribution of an information sheet on the portal, in the clinics and outpatient clinics, as well as through the website of the Metaxas Hospital.

These measures are implemented by Monday 15 July 2024 and until Monday 29 July 2024 at which point there will be a review of the measures, depending on the epidemiological data that will have emerged”, says the Governor of the “Metaxa” anti-cancer Hospital.
