Videos in which the Greek authorities are supposed to be acting illegally re-promotions of refugees and immigrants (push backs) in Aegean publishes in X the Turkish Ministry of Defense.

The footage was taken by a Turkish drone and shows a coastguard vessel pushing a migrant boat back to Turkey, in an incident north of Lesvos, according to the Turkish ministry.

“During the reconnaissance and surveillance activities carried out with the UAV belonging to our Naval Forces Command, it was observed that vessels of the Hellenic Coast Guard pushed a vessel carrying irregular migrants to the north of the island of Lesbos in Turkish territorial waters, in a northerly direction. Our Coast Guard Command was immediately informed and the migrants in question were rescued by the Coast Guard vessel that arrived in the area,” the Turkish Ministry of Defense said in the post.

The Greek answer

Sources from the Greek Coast Guard claim that the events did not unfold as the Turkish side presents them. As the same sources explain, this is a standard early detection and not a re-promotion. In this specific timely detection and in the context of the cooperation with the Turkish Coast Guard, the Greek Coast Guard notified it about the collection, where it responded.
