Mobilization week at VINCI projects to achieve the “Zero Accident” goal
Olympia Odos participated for another year in the VINCI Group’s Health & Safety Week and carried out information and awareness actions for employees and partners, in order to promote its main goal, which is “Zero Accidents”.
The Health and Safety Week of VINCI Concessions, the main shareholder of Olympia Road, this year had the message “SPOT & STOP”, that is, “spot and stop” the risks at work.
This year’s actions were carried out around 2 pillars.
• Climate change: a phenomenon that concerns us more and more, as it is constantly intensifying, affecting working conditions in the field.
• The rapid development of technology and science. We looked at new tools and technologies to implement new, safer practices and to monitor the measures we already have in place.
In particular, we carried out trainings in the offices on fire, earthquake protection, building evacuation authorities as well as a Health & Safety Day with the participation of employees, subcontractors and partners of the company. At the same time, we organized a photo competition on the topic of good safety practices in field work.
Panagiotis Papanikolas, President & CEO of Olympia Odos, said: “The VINCI Health and Safety Week is an excellent opportunity to see where we stand on these issues and to set new goals. We are called upon to shape a working framework by intervening and changing processes where necessary. We utilize the tools of the new era and adopt new practices, respecting the environment.”
In the Conference, innovative practical bodies and companies participated and presented, such as OPTIMAL which highlighted through Neuroscience how the worker perceives the environment and risks and how we can communicate safety rules more effectively. The companies MANAGEMENT FORCE GROUP, HYPERTECH SA and STOP highlighted new tools to improve working conditions and increase health and safety levels.
The Hellenic Institute of Health and Safety at Work (ELINYAE) was with us one more year and emphasized the importance of Health and Safety at work in light of the new data. Specifically, on behalf of ELINYAE, Minas Analytis emphasized, among other things: “Prevention is a continuous process of interdisciplinary approach and in this sense requires perseverance and patience from its participants, with the ultimate goal of reducing occupational risk and improving working conditions, so that everyone feels that they are working in a safe environment.”
